A Colorful Winter Wedding at Chase Court!

LR-9242

The Kiss Kiss Players welcomed guests to Molly and Ryan’s wedding at Chase Court. The sound of strings in the ballroom was just magnificent!

The trio touched depth, drama, and brought a deep sense of gravitas.

LR-9220

There is a presence of emotion and energy that only live music can bring.

Molly was a classic, traditional bride with red roses and a veil, on her father’s arm in a simple white dress trimmed and accessorized with pearls.

LR-9285

The morning sun lit up the ballroom for their wedding ceremony!

LR-9287

The wedding party carried the classic, traditional look with fur capes over red dresses for the ladies and more roses—white for her attendants and red for his.

LR-9199

But that’s where tradition ended! Get ready for a color explosion!

LR-9331

The ballroom turned into a kaleidoscope of color!

LR-9174

Eight colors of napkins on every table, plus the favor boxes (which contained strips of paper and instructions on how to make paper stars), plus the incredible centerpieces.

LR-9134

What’s most amazing is that the bride, with the help of family and friends, made all of these herself!

And these…

LR-9181

And this incredible backdrop for the gift table!

LR-4259

Is this not the coolest card box! The bride’s very talented aunt made it as a gift for Molly and Ryan.

Then the bride turned her attention to the ballroom window sills.

LR-9137

The attention to detail was fabulous.

Different colors all around the room.

This one was my favorite!

LR-9131

There were hundreds and hundreds of these, in the window sills and on the tables and scattered before the bride like rose pedals. Making everything took several months of work.

The sweetheart table had a special, contrasting linen overlay.

Then there was the cake…

LR-9148

Cupcakes! With dinosaurs. The flavors included salted caramel and cookies and creme, among others.

LR-9343

Yes, that’s bacon…

Molly and Ryan’s wedding is an example of DIY design and fabrication done exceptionally well. The decor looked great throughout and the craftsmanship was superb.

Beside an excellent design sense, doing DIY decor design well calls for tremendous attention to detail and a high level of communication with the venue and the caterer in the planning process. Not only does that insure that everything will fall into place easily and effortlessly on wedding day, but the wedding professionals can contribute useful ideas.

Creative collaboration worked well for Molly and Ryan’s wedding. For example, one of the ideas we presented was choosing contrasting color linens overlays for service tables. They liked that idea, so the white linen that was on their guest tables was accented on the buffet, beverage, and gift tables with a blue overlay, on the cake table with blue and lime green, and on the sweetheart table with orange. The total effect was absolutely stunning.
