Spectacular August Wedding Reception

LR-5598

May I start by saying that I was stunned by the beauty of the flowers for this wedding!

Okay, back to the beginning… Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in the garden! Matthew and Patrick (that’s Matthew in the white jacket, facing you) are going into their 20th year together! We were honored to have them at Chase Court for their wedding reception.

A jazz trio in the pergola is always a super-nice way to do cocktail music. Looks great, sounds great, and guests can hear each other with the music fully present but not intruding.

The weather – for early August – was absolutely fabulous!

Great flowers don’t have to be complex. Massed quantities of one spectacular flower can be outstanding. It doesn’t hurt when those flowers are red roses!

There were overflowing baskets of flowers were in the garden, hanging from shepherd’s hooks. Elegant.

One of our planters was a little bare, so we asked the florist if she would touch it up. Did she ever!

Cocktail-height tables in the library carried the simple-but-elegant decor treatment from outside to inside.

The rich burgundy linens looked great in the ballroom with the off-white Chiavari chairs.

Good things come in ‘threes’, especially in wedding decor! Three pillar candles in glass in each window, with more roses and votive candles to add color and interest and pizzaz , all for virtually no cost.

I love the look of the napkins hanging over the tables, with the menu cards (LOVE menu cards!) on top.
