Chase Court is the Best LGBTQ+ Wedding Venue in Baltimore, Maryland! Why? Here are 15 great reasons!

#1 Inclusivity
We’re LGBTQ+ supportive and affirmative. Chase Court has been the venue for 79 LGBTQ+ elopements, microweddings, wedding ceremonies, and receptions, with more on the books for 2026 and 2027!
We’ve been doing same-sex weddings at Chase Court since 2013, when same-sex weddings became legal in Maryland, two years before they became legal under federal law. Before that, we did commitment ceremonies.
Chase Court warmly welcomes, honors, and affirms all couples without regard to race, spirituality, gender identity, sexuality, or sexual orientation.

#2 You’ll Feel Welcome In The Neighborhood
Our Elegant, Historic, Mount Vernon Neighborhood in Baltimore has been known since the 1970s as the “gayborhood”.The oldest continuously running gay bar on the East Coast, Leon’s, has been here since 1957! Pride celebrations happen here every year.
Mount Vernon is Baltimore’s cultural and historic center and a vibrant neighborhood, known for its historic charm, diverse architecture, and cultural institutions. It’s home to the original Washington Monument, the Mount Vernon Place park, and a wide variety of restaurants. It’s a lively, walkable area with a strong community feel.
Mount Vernon is also significant for its fine architecture. The residential, commercial, and institutional buildings of Mount Vernon are among the most elaborate nineteenth and early twentieth century structures in Baltimore. There is a diversity of building types, styles, and uses that feature a grand scale, high degree of decoration, and classical elegance (including Chase Court!), all contributing to Mount Vernon’s historic character.
#3 Easy (and Inexpensive) Parking
There are 500 parking spaces within a block of Chase Court, and unlike downtown, parking in Mount Vernon is remarkably inexpensive.
There’s a Visit menu on chasecourt.com to help you and your guests get to Chase Court easily and comfortably, park close-by, and discover the many fantastic neighborhood hotels and restaurants.

#4 Our Traditional Gothic Architecture
Chase Court is an amazing Baltimore wedding ceremony and reception venue, with the simple elegance of traditional gothic architecture, but a decidedly non-traditional attitude.
Authentic (1879!). Comforting. Stunningly Beautiful. Real. Intimate. Romantic. And with all the modern conveniences you’ll want, including air conditioning.
You’ll love the great hall for dinner and dancing and indoor ceremonies, and the library and garden for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.
Guests rave about the venue. You will, too!
Chase Court comfortably accommodates 125 guests seated for dinner, or 150 guests cocktail style. You won’t get lost at Chase Court, either in the space, or as a client. Every wedding here, no matter its size, is important to us.
You’ll also like that it’s secluded and very private, hidden behind our historic gates and gardens in the beautiful Mount Vernon neighborhood of Baltimore.
By the way, Chase Court is privately owned. It’s a gorgeous, historic, church-like-without-being-a-church wedding venue!

#5 The Magical, Private Gardens
Starting with the magical, 100-foot-long, “attitude adjustment” entrance garden, designed to take guests out of their everyday lives and transport them to a special place before they even get in the door! It’s calming, rich, and vibrant, and wedding guests melt into the mood.
Then there’s thestunning, clearing-in-the-forest, private ceremony garden, with lots of colorful goldfish in the pond, and a wisteria-covered pergola for your ceremony.
The ceremony garden comfortably seats over 100 guests, and holds up to 150 guests for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.
By the way, you don’t have to take our word about the magnificence of the gardens. Chase Court was the winner in the 2025 Best of Baltimore Weddings Reader’s Poll in the “Gardens” category!

#6 The Romantic Wedding Suite
You have a room of your own! It’s a wonderful place to get dressed, touch up your make-up (so many mirrors!), make some beautiful getting-ready photographs, relax, and enjoy a special, quiet moment before your wedding ceremony. You even get your own rest room!
When there’s a need for a separate getting-ready space for each of you, booking a room right across the street at the Empire House works great!

#7 We’ve Won Lots of Awards
Chase Court has won over two dozen awards for, among other things, the Baltimore Weddings magazine Reader’s Poll Best Of Baltimore Weddings; a national Wedding Of The Year award from the National Association for Catering and Events; six Best Of Where To Elope awards; and numerous awards for our LGBTQ+ weddings.
Several of Chase Court’s approved caterers and recommended wedding professionals have also won Baltimore Weddings magazine Reader’s Poll awards!

#8 All-Inclusive Elopement Packages & Micro-Weddings
Lots of our LGBTQ+ couples have elopement ceremonies at Chase Court.
There are eleven different elopement packages for ceremony-only elopements and microweddings—from all-inclusive to do-it- yourself—with packages for just the two of you, up to eight guests, up to 30 guests, and even up to 45 or 60 guests.
“Elopement” in this case is a term of art, since it can be anywhere from just the two of you up to 60 guests. An elopement is a wonderful way to have your small wedding in a stunningly-beautiful wedding venue, in the building or in the ceremony garden, with a wonderful, long list of available add-ons for you to use, if you like, to create your own custom wedding.
You can have a custom ceremony, photography, flowers, live music, video, even a reception. The whole idea is to create a beautiful, memorable, romantic wedding, with all the things you want, just the way you want them.
Oh, and the best thing? It’s all turnkey. We put everything together for you, starting with one of the elopement packages, with options to add any of a dozen different add-ons.
It’s a completely-custom alternative to a cookie-cutter courthouse wedding. We take care of all the details. All at a price you can afford.
We were the first in Baltimore to create modern “elopement” packages. We like to think that we do it better than anyone!

#9 Tables And Chairs Are Included
Tables and chairs are included with every wedding. That can easily save you a thousand dollars for a 100-guest wedding. And it makes things so much less complicated for set up and breakdown. It also saves you labor money on your catering bill (and lowers everyone’s stress level).
By the way, all of the set-up and break down of tables and chairs is done for you. We want you to enjoy your wedding, not work during it!

#11 Outstanding Approved Caterers
Our six carefully hand-picked group of approved caterers are owned and staffed by people we know and trust. All are delighted to work with our LGBTQ+ couples. These companies offer catering experiences from simple to elegant, basic to gourmet, across a broad range of pricing.
All of them allow you to provide your own alcohol, if you wish, which they will serve.
Why should you be happy that we have approved caterers? Chase Court has done all of the work of vetting each caterer, including being sure they have a current Statewide Caterer’s License, liability insurance, and a food service permit. We not only know about the quality of their food, but the quality of their service, and how they take care of their clients.
There’s a ton of caterers out there. We’ve sorted through them, and picked what we think is an excellent selection for your wedding.
All of our approved caterers happily welcome couples of every spirituality and sexuality. They will treat you with integrity and respect—and be incredibly helpful!

With rare exception, all of these wedding professionals have worked at Chase Court, and we’ve seen their work. They know Chase Court well. We trust them to create excellent experiences for you and your guests!
You are, of course, not required to use any of these professionals. But if you do, we promise that you’ll be delighted with their work!
