Simple. Elegant. Beautiful. Two red candles in each of the eight Ballroom windows, all in pretty little glass holders. That’s all you need. (Not that you can’t do more if you like!)
Here’s more of the Ballroom. You can see how all of the decor ties together. This was a cocktail-style reception, with lots of high tables. There was low seating for what I call the ‘Honored, Infirm and Elderly’, all of which was less than a third of the total guest count. Any more than that and people start to wonder, “Where’s my chair?”. The linens are a classic ivory and red, with a nice dark Chiavari chair and a matching ivory cushion. Food service was from stations and roving servers, so the tables were free of glassware and flatware and so forth. That made doing the decorating that much easier!
This is an easy kind of set-up to do. Guests love being able to move and mingle and discover different foods in different places.
