A cathedral-length train on a wedding gown is unusual at Chase Court, but Shelley wore one on May 8, and she looked magnificent!
We did a special pre-rehearsal with the bride and her mom and her sister, the latter having put together a mock-up train for the occasion. It worked great, along with the considerable petticoat that supported the dress.
The procession from the base of the staircase from the Bride’s Room, out into the Ceremony Garden and up to the pergola is really wonderful, but trailing a train that’s over four feet long presents interesting challenges! All were carefully considered and ultimately solved by the addition of two train bearers, the junior bridesmaid and the flower girl. Both girls performed admirably, keeping the train looking good and free from harm—or a dip in the pond! —David
